On Saturday afternoon, the final spot in the SEC championship will be claimed by either seventh-seeded Texas A&M or sixth-seeded Florida as the teams battle it out for a chance to win the SEC title. The Aggies pulled off a huge upset over second-seeded Kentucky in a 97-87 victory on Friday night to advance to the semifinal round. Entering the tournament, Kentucky was ranked No. 9 in the nation, but Texas A&M didn't let that intimidate them. The Aggies are now 20-13 overall after finishing the regular season with a conference record of 9-9. In the upset, the Aggies were led by Wade Taylor IV who finished with 32 points. Tyrece Radford added 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the game. On the season, Taylor IV leads the team with 18.5 points per game and 40 assists per game.

The Gators made it through to the semifinal round after pulling off their own upset over No. 19 Alabama in a big 102-88 victory. Florida used a big first half to propel them to victory, leading 48-33 over the third-seeded Crimson Tide at the end of the first half. Walter Clayton Jr. led with 23 points and added four assists to the stat sheet. Tyrese Samuel added 18 points, two blocks and four rebounds. On the season, the Gators are 23-10 with an 11-7 conference record. Clayton has led his team all season, averaging 17.3 points per game. Samuel leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game.
The last meeting between the two teams was February 3rd and the Aggies earned a narrow 67-66 victory, so Saturday's semifinal matchup is bound to be an exciting one.
